You Ought to Try It Sometime Lyrics

I want a honky tonk girl
I want a honky tonk song
I'd like to pull my saddle off
And send my pony homeI've got fast cars, fast planes
Fast trains everything
Never gets me there on timeYou've got the bossman
Tax man screwin' up my game plan
Messin' with my mindYou've got a bad moods, attitude
Every day can take a few
Good years off of my lifeBut I put them back on
When the band kicks off
Every Saturday nightI get a honky tonk girl
And a honky tonk song
Then I pull my saddle off
And send my pony homeWe're gonna dance all night
In and out of that line
With a rockin' beat
To get you on your feet

You ought to try it sometimeWell, talk to me big wheel
Can you tell me what's the deal
Won't you let a poor boy slideBack dent, pay the rent
Got to send them every cent
But I'm gonna surviveWith a honky tonk girl
And a honky tonk song
Then I pull my saddle off
And send my pony homeWe're gonna dance all night
In and out of that line
With a rockin' beat
To get you on your feet
You ought to try it sometimeI get a honky tonk girl
And a honky tonk song
Then I pull my saddle off
And send my pony home

Conway Twitty (1 September 1933 – 5 June 1993), born Harold Lloyd Jenkins, was one of the United States' most successful artists of the 20th century. Twitty had the most singles (55) reach Number 1 on various national music charts. Conway Twitty's across the board totals were greater than that of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, and Garth Brooks. Most notably known as a country music singer, Twitty also enjoyed success in early Rock and Roll, R&B, and Pop music (among other genres). He teamed up with Loretta Lynn to form one of country music's most successful business partnerships.
