You're a Part of Me Lyrics

I'd like to live out all my dreams and if I could
Yes, if I could, the nicest one would be with you
And you'd be here with me, don't you ever get lonely?Lord, I'm no good when you're away
What do expect from a girl, who loves you, like I love you?
Won't you ever just get tired and come on home to me?
Don't you ever get lonely? You're a part of me that I can't do without
You're a part of me, what dreams are all about
But you can't hold onto somethin' that you never had before
Love waits for the wind to bring you back again
And take me away, take me awayFriends say it's great now, you're a star
But what did they expect from a girl, who loved you just the way you were?
And late at night, how I wish things had never changed
When you were here with me, don't you ever get lonely? You're a part of me that I can't do without
You're a part of me, what dreams are all about
But you can't hold onto somethin' that you never had before
Love waits for the wind to bring you back again
And take me away, take me awayYou're a part of me that I can't do without
You're a part of me, what dreams are all about

But you can't hold onto somethin' that you never had before
Love waits for the wind to bring you back again
And take me away, take me awayTake me away

Early life Childhood & teen years
Charlotte Denise McClain was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1956. Originally named Charlotte, "Charly" was given her masculine moniker by neighborhood friends in Memphis, and she also used it when she started playing hotel lounges. When Epic Records decided it sounded catchier than Charlotte, it became a permanent professional banner. [1] McClain's father had tuberculosis when she was eight, and, since she was under age for visitation rights at the hospital, she had to communicate with him through a tape recorder. [2]
