Youth Lyrics

They didn't warn me
When I was running wild
The dragons breathing fire
In the backyard at nightWe live in circles
And it's so hard to breathe
Maybe the same old fears
What have we here?
Don't bring me down
With youNow I'm just chasing time
With a thousand dreams I'm holding heavy
And as we cross the line these fading beats have all been severed
Don't tell me our youth is running out
It's only just begunIf I asked you for good news
Would you smile and turn away?
It's like a bad dream
That is too afraid to wakeThere are many among us
And we're changing all the time
Maybe the same old fears

What have we here?
Don't bring me down
With youNow I'm just chasing time
With a thousand dreams I'm holding heavy
And as we cross the line these fading beats have all been severed
Don't tell me our youth is running out
It's only just begunThese fading beats
These fading beatsNow I'm just chasing time
With a thousand dreams I'm holding heavy
And as we cross the line these fading beats have all been severed
Don't tell me our youth is running out
It's only just begunThese fading beats
A thousand dreams
These fading beats
A thousand dreams
It's only just begun

"Foxes" is the name used by two artists: 1. An electronica artist from London, UK
2. A five-piece melodic hardcore/screamo band from Perth, Western Australia 1. "Youth", an endlessly unique and massively anthemic debut offering that takes us back to the special days of Marina’s "Obsessions". Vocally, we might call it a bittersweet fusion of Ellie Goulding and Clare Maguire if we weren't ourselves sick of the never-ending carousel of comparisons that befalls every new female vocalist these days, but the songwriting puts Foxes well and truly in a league of her own here.
