aint no brakeman Lyrics

Staring down the double line
We're flowing off behind
I never see your face no more
I left you standing on the shore
We made mistakes and now we're paying
But it's much too late
There ain't no brakeman on this train
There ain't no brakeman on this train
There ain't no brakeman on this train
Yeah, there ain't no engineer
To pull the throttle back
It's full steam up ahead
Or down the windy track
We had our chance, it slipped away
Don't call my name

There ain't no brakeman on this train
There ain't no brakeman on this train
I'm not saying, I'm not saying that
You were wrong to play to win
Watch what you're doing now
Watch what you're doing now
The things that you throw away
Won't come again, no, no
Oh, they won't come again, oh yeah
We sat down at the station
You were trying to decide
Was I your destination
Or just one stop on the ride
We had our chance, it slipped away
Don't call my name
There ain't no brakeman on this train
There ain't no brakeman on this train
There ain't no brakeman on this train
No brakeman on this train

Coco Montoya (b. 1951 in Santa Monica, CA) is a blues guitarist and former member of John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. Montoya's career began in the mid-70's when Albert Collins asked him to join his band as drummer. Collins took Montoya under his wing and taught him his "icy hot" guitar style. The two remained friends even after Montoya left Collins' band. In the early 80's John Mayall heard Montoya playing guitar in a Los Angles bar. Soon after Mayall asked Montoya to join the newly reformed Bluesbreakers. He remained a member of the band for 10 years.
