Vaportrail was a 90's shoegaze, post rock band from San Francisco. Their music was heavily influenced by bands like The Red House Painters, My Bloody Valentine, Ride, Swervedriver and Built to Spill. Formed by guitarist Roger Anderson in 1996, other band members included Mike Anderson future/former Shimmer Kids, Mark Dansby(bass), Greg Ziemba(drums), Shane Krauss (drums) and Chris Ruffalo (Guitar).

Vaportrail played various shows in and around the SF Bay Area. Their first album, E.P., was highly acclaimed and includes Red House Painter's drummer, Anthony Koutsos. Band member changes and then a reunion of Roger, Mark and Greg led to a 2nd album, The Angel Has Landed, released and produced by the band on their own label, 2012 records. This full length album shows the band's growth and variety of sound while highlighting Roger's song-writing skill. The Band broke up after a final performance on the release date of the full length album (The Angel Has Landed), opening for the Red House Painters in the summer of 2001.

Roger is now working on a wonderful solo project, Halcyon High, while Mark is dabbling with electronic/dub/ambient music on his solo project, The Grooveneir.
