Psy-Sci is Matthew Timpanelli from Staten Island. His name was psychedelascience but was abbreviated by a messageboard poster on the wfmu forum. He became involved in a free music community on a filesharing application called soulseek. The resulting netlabel was called soulseek records and continues to promote new music from unsigned artists. All the time he was learning about music and becoming influenced by the many artists on soulseek as well as outside influences. His music goes from acoustic to electro, places between and beyond. He was first released on the One Minute Massacre
