40 Billion Burgers Lyrics

40 billion burgers is it really true?
Well, I ate a few.
Well, how 'bout you?Countless cokes and chocolate shakes
and french fries, too.
What could I do? I needed you.You were the only girl in life I could see,
You'd wear your uniform and smile at me.
At me.Every time I'd order I would feel so dumb.
I'd want to run, but I would stay.
Can I have a thousand cups and straws to go?
You'd just say, "No!" and "Go away!"I tried to show you how I really feel.
And in the process I would eat a quick meal.
A meal.40 billion burgers is it really true?
Is my love for you just like fast food?
To you plan to cast me off like a carry out?
Did you wear me out? Are we now through? You were the only girl in life I could see.
You'd wear your uniform and smile at me.
At me.

Wazmo Nariz was an eccentric creative force on the Chicago new wave scene in the mid-70's. His sound was pre-Devo wild guitar and synth robotics. He always wore two neck ties- no one knows why. He seemed normal in every way until he took the stage, where his convulsive singing and stage antics could only be described as what one would imagine if James Brown was getting electric shock treatments while performing Cold Sweat. He hosted the IRS Records excellent TV show The Cutting Edge in the 80's.
