A Lovers Lament Lyrics

Ive been trying to find the reason why
You ran away and said goodbye
And you left the only life youve ever known
Now I dont know if I can make it
But I tell you I cant fake it
One more day
Cause Im tired of my heart aching
And Im tired of my heart breaking
Im tired of living in betweenAnd if reality and my hope never find a way to collide
If I missed my only chance
If this is what you want to do if you are sure to see this through
Then I guess that Ill begin again without you
Ill take a chance, take a risk
Let some love into my midst
Step into the light and trust that I
Am going to be all right, tonightWell, I hope you find what youre looking for
Become content and dont want more
But now Im pretty sure I never knew you

You compromise and justify, youve traded truth for a lie
And know that I dont want to change your mindAnd what do you hope to find now that youre on your way and on your own
Tell me who you want to be
If this is what you want to do, if you are sure to see this through
Then I guess that Ill concludeI never knew you, you never let me in
You never knew me, but its time to begin
To take a chance, take a risk
Let some love into my midst
Step into the light and trust that I
Am going to be all right, tonightIf only you could look and see what lies deep inside of me
Has rushed up to the top, become reality
How could I have ever known
That another page, another song
Was to be wrote, was to be played
So I will take a chance and let myself
Be hurt and known and touched and loved, and all the aboveIll take a chance, take a risk
Let some love into my midst
Step into the light and trust that I
Am going to be all right, tonight
Ill take a chance, oh, Ill take a chance, tonight

David James Stewart is an up and coming independent artist from Minneapolis, MN. David just released his debut solo album, "Things That Make Us" on February 10th, 2009. On top of being a singer/songwriter, David is also a multi-instrumentalist and producer, in fact, David played all the instruments and produced his album himself.

He describes his music as "story-telling indie rock and roll with a touch of electronica and dash of folk." Others have described his music as "the bastard child of The Killers and Dido" or "Shawn McDonald meets Switchfoot". Whatever comparisons you find most helpful, one cannot argue that Things That Make Us is just the beginning of good things to come from David James Stewart.
