Caesura Lyrics

My fingers are white like whispers
and the lips that consume them are flames
for lack of better things to set on fire.My knees are red like rumors
from this gossip with the floor.
I haven't moved in half an hour.Spirit come down,
show us your power!
Spirit come down,
show us your love!I'd tell You but I'm too afraid
that this night will break into day
and I'll be here without a word in reply.
And I'd listen but I'm too ashamed
for I know that the answer's the same
as the last time I refused to get up and try.My eyes are as blank as bandages
that cover the blood on my hands,
that strangle themselves in despair. My heart is as gold as a grave
that reshuffles its tenants each day
and You treat me like treasure when I throw you away.Turn these silences into
"Father, Father."

After The Sirens is a five piece indie rock outfit from Boston's snowy North Shore. The success of their 2005 self-released EP "We Have No White Flags," which landed the band its first national cable television performance and critical acclaim from both regional and national media, created a strong regional fan base that was very eager for the release of After The Sirens' first full-length album.

After over two years of persistent self-promotion, After The Sirens signed on with Boston indie label Blue Duck Records in January 2006. Their first full length album "What I Have to Give, Let it be Enough" was released on November 28, 2006.

After taking some time off to graduate from college, After The Sirens embarked on their first national tour in the fall of 2007. At this time, they also released "What I Have to Give..." in Japan, where it charted on the top 10 indie albums of 2007 at Tower Records. The album also included two bonus tracks which were not available on the American release.

On April 6, 2008, after playing only nine shows since the end of their national tour, After The Sirens announced its breakup on its MySpace page. Since then, however, vocalist Ryan Heidorn and guitarist Tom Deyesso have been writing music together which they plan to debut in the Boston area by the end of this summer.
