Child Lyrics

You want to run
But you're too afraid to leave
You said you have faith
But not enough to believeYou're back and forth
You go back and forth again
It wears you down
And it ties your handsNo more running
The search is over
Your salvation
Has brought you back to lifeChild, wipe your tears away
'Cause Jesus cares for you
He knows you're hurting
And all you're going throughWon't you try? Just test your faith and see
You'll walk the oceans and believe
He's right there by your side
Oh, oh, childOut of place is where you find yourself
Without a trace, you send an S.O.S. for help
No more running, the search is over

Your salvation has brought you back to lifeChild, wipe your tears away
'Cause Jesus cares for you
He knows you're hurting
And all you're going throughWon't you try? Just test your faith and see
You'll walk the oceans and believe
He's right there by your side
Oh, childWipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away
Oh, wipe your tears away, ohOh, child, wipe your tears away
[Incomprehensible]
He cares for you
All you're going throughOh, won't you try? Just test your faith and see
You'll walk the oceans and believe
He's right there by your sideOh, child wipe your tears away
'Cause Jesus cares for you

According to frontman and DC Talk member Michael Tait, the band Tait was born in 1996 when he met drummer Chad Chapin. The two performed a cover of the song Curious George, followed by a bevy of Pearl Jam tracks. From this, Tait emerged and added two new members, former Grammatrain member Pete Stewart and former Petra bass player Lonnie Chapin. The group is named for Michael Tait's late father, of whom he says "taught me how to appreciate the human experience whether it be a sunny day, a beautiful lawn, or amazing trees set before an amazing mountain.
