Free Will Lyrics

To the Maker of this house the holder of the key
I gave You my heart but held some back for me
Someday I would give You everything I am
But I stole my road to freedom I took the key and ranDisconnected with my hands over my ears
You said You would meet me if I'd reach outI got a free will, I'm gonna use it
I got a free will yes, I do
I got a free will, I'm gonna use it
I got a free will yes, I do, yes, I doThank You for this gift it's still a mystery
My freedom in Your hands is how it's meant to be
It's only when I give You everything I am
Bittersweet surrender take meI got a free will, I'm gonna use it
I got a free will yes, I do
I got a free will, I'm choose it
I got a free will yes, I doSomething ain't right, you gotta let it go
Something ain't right, you gotta let it go
I'm gonna make it right, I'm letting goIt's up to me, I got a free will
I got a free will, I'm gonna use it
I got a free will, yes, I doI got a free will and I've got to lose it

So I give my free will back to You yes, I do, yes, I doThe Son has set me free
And I am free indeed

According to frontman and DC Talk member Michael Tait, the band Tait was born in 1996 when he met drummer Chad Chapin. The two performed a cover of the song Curious George, followed by a bevy of Pearl Jam tracks. From this, Tait emerged and added two new members, former Grammatrain member Pete Stewart and former Petra bass player Lonnie Chapin. The group is named for Michael Tait's late father, of whom he says "taught me how to appreciate the human experience whether it be a sunny day, a beautiful lawn, or amazing trees set before an amazing mountain.
