Chinatown Bus Lyrics

Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
When you say, “Ne hao ma” they will look at you and smile Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
They will think you know Chinese but you will only know Ne hao ma ah ha ha ha ha ha
They will like you more than all the white people next to you oh oh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
They will know you better than just another passenger
You will be happy that all you had to remember was
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
When you only have ten dollars you can go so fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far
It is almost as enjoyable as driving in you ca ca ca ca ca ca ca ca car
When you stop at Wendy’s you can get some French fr fr fr fr fr fr French Fries
You can smoke cigarettes with the driver and you can watch him dr dr dr dr dr dr dr drive
And he will know you better than just another passenger
You will be happy that all you had to remember was

Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ooh, going uptown, going downtown, going to Beantown
Ooh, down to Washingon D.C.
Going crosstown, up to Beantown
Oh yeah, down to Washington D.C!
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus
Ne Hao Ma is what you say when you get on the Chinatown Bus

Made up of programmer/keyboardist Sammy Rubin and vocalist Jeremy Haines, Project Jenny, Project Jan spans a surprising musical range, from the sinister beats of “320” to the feel good “Summertime”; from the singalong swing of “Brooklyn” to the expansive Bollywood feel of “The Dialogue.” One thing remains constant, however: Their kinetic energy, which inspired Billboard to call Project Jenny, Project Jan’s live show a “shockingly dynamic, danceable, and hilarious affair.” VanityFair.com called the band “awesome” and enthusiastically recommended its show “to anyone with functional knee and elbow joints.” Meanwhile, Gothamist solemnly observed, “This is a band that should be taken seriously.” The duo’s originality impressed Ear Farm enough to name Project Jenny, Project Jan one of its top ten bands to watch out for in 2008. Sure enough, that year Project Jenny, Project Jan was featured in the film Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist, performing their rowdy crowd-pleaser “Negative.”

Project Jenny, Project Jan’s discography so far includes its 2005 self-released EP —and its debut album XOXOXOXOXO (Might Records), which CMJ hailed as one of the top 25 albums of 2007. Having toured up and down the East Coast, in 2007 Project Jenny, Project Jan opened for Fujiya & Miyagi in the US and then again in the UK; currently the boys are about to embark on another F&M tour, this time across the Southern US and the West. In addition, Project Jenny, Project Jan are set to release a collaboration EP titled the The Colors EP, on April 14th, 2009, featuring collaborations with Fujiya & Miyagi, So Percussion, Mixel Pixel, Adam Matta and Clack Singles Club.
