Day for Night Lyrics

Day for night
I can't wait 'til the time is right
Like a gun waits for war
Like the sun waiting for a lightPound away
Get it done in just half a day
'Neath the sweltering sky
Get it done, don't ask why, whyDon't you want to live my way?
Living day for night
Don't you want to live my way?Why you want to keep trying?
You never get it right
When you could be living day for nightLive my dream
There's no dancing in between
Why not let it go?
There's no sense being so extremeAct instead
There's no life living in your head
The director's long gone
Still the play goes on
And on and on, come onDon't you want to live my way?

Living day for night
Don't you want to live my way?Why you want to keep trying?
You never get it right
When you could be living day for nightDon't you want to live my way?
Don't you want to live my way?Why you want to keep trying?
You never get it right
When you could be living day for nightYour dreams were disappearing
So you disappeared into your head
There's no freshness in your feelings
So you feel like going back to bed
As the mercury rises
There are still some surprisesDay for night there's no time
There's no end in sight
Not a moment to lose
There's no voice you can't choose
Come onDon't you want to live my way?
Living day for night
Don't you want to live my way?Why you want to keep trying?
You never get it right
When you could be living day for nightDon't you want to live my way?
Don't you want to live my way?
Don't you want to live my way?
We could be living day for nightDon't you want to live my way?
Don't you want to live my way?
Don't you want to live my way?
Day for night

Spock's Beard is a progressive rock band formed in 1992 in Los Angeles by brothers Neal and Alan Morse. Neal (keyboards/vocals) and Alan (guitars) were joined by fellow musicians Nick D'Virgilio (Nick D'Virgilio, drums - also known as NDV) and Dave Meros (bass), and were later joined by veteran keyboardist Ryo Okumoto. Spock's Beard play a brand of progressive rock with pop music leanings, drawing much influence from Genesis and The Beatles. They are also well known for their intricate multi-part vocal harmonies and use of counterpoint much in the vein of Gentle Giant.
