Skin Lyrics

Like a star with a blue moon rising
You complain but you keep surprising yourself
Like a dog who's been kicked all over
You tried to quit but you can't stop kicking yourselfIt's the truth, it's a lie, love will never dieDon't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skin
You're like a butterfly fighting the wind
Don't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skinYou shut down tried to not be special
Lights were off but someone's always been home
May as well not resist temptation
Plug yourself in the wall and light up the townTime is up, it's alive, take this dream and driveDon't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skin
You're like a butterfly fighting the wind
Don't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skinClimb way up to the ground, slide on up and slide downIt's the truth, it's a lie love will never die
It's the best you can buy might be worth a try
Make a wish take a dive don't just stay alive
You'll do more than survive take this dream and driveDon't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skin
You're like a butterfly fighting the wind
Don't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skin
You're like a butterfly fighting the windDon't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skin
You're like a butterfly fighting the wind

Don't you see it's like tryin' to climb out of your skin
You're like a butterfly fighting the windOut of your skin
Out of your skin
Out of your skin
Out of your skin

Spock's Beard is a progressive rock band formed in 1992 in Los Angeles by brothers Neal and Alan Morse. Neal (keyboards/vocals) and Alan (guitars) were joined by fellow musicians Nick D'Virgilio (Nick D'Virgilio, drums - also known as NDV) and Dave Meros (bass), and were later joined by veteran keyboardist Ryo Okumoto. Spock's Beard play a brand of progressive rock with pop music leanings, drawing much influence from Genesis and The Beatles. They are also well known for their intricate multi-part vocal harmonies and use of counterpoint much in the vein of Gentle Giant.
