Don't Break My Heart Again (feat. Paul Laine) Lyrics

How many times do I have to get hurt
How many tears can I cry
Forgive and forget that's what you always said
Just like some well rehearsed lineWell I made some mistakes that I'd like to forget
And I won't even try to pretend
But you're one mistake that I don't wanna make
And I swore this wouldn't happen againYou want one more dance
Just one more chance
If I lay my love on the lineDon't break my heart again, no
Don't break my heart again, no
Can't play that part again
And I never wanted to
Don't break my heart againNow my world is so empty without you
Since you left me and painted in black
And the rain outside my windows hangin' round and it won't go
'Til the day you come backNo it ain't that easy
But I'll swallow my pride
I'll lay my love on the lineDon't break my heart again, no

Don't break my heart again, no
Can't play that part again
And I never wanted to
Don't break my heart againOh I couldn't take that anymore
I'm still healing from the wounds you left before
You know the scars run deep
But not as deep as my love for you
It cuts right throughDon't break my heart again, no
Don't break my heart again, no
Can't play that part again
And I never wanted to
You want one more dance
Just one more chance
I'll lay my love on the line

The quintet -- Ted Poley (vocals), Andy Timmons (guitar), Bruno Ravel (bass), Steve West (drums), and Kasey Smith (keyboards) Landed a deal with Epic in 1989. The same year saw the release of the group's self-titled debut, spawning the single/video "Naughty Naughty," which enjoyed a few airings on MTV's Headbanger's Ball program. The album failed to break the group through to the big time, but the group stuck to their guns and issued further albums: 1992's Screw It, 1995's Dawn, 1998's Four the Hard Way, and 2000's Return of the Great Gildersleeves.
