Don't Come Around Lyrics

I have finally faced it
The well is dry
And we're not gonna make it
Out of this war aliveHe brings me close and says to me
Lets make this a happy ending and try to stay friends
But you see, If this love affair was happy
Then it would not endAnd I don't wanna be
One of your friends
If we must break up
Then that's where it endsSo please don't come around
Bringin' me down
Listenin' for your lover
Don't hear a soundAnd please don't come around
Bringin' me down
Tossin' and turnin'
My smile's upside downDon't invite me out to dinner
Don't call me on the phone
You wanted to leave me baby

So won't you leave me alone?Yeah and I don't wanna be
One of your friends
If we must break up
Then that's where it endsSo please don't come around
Bringin' me down
Listenin' for your lover
Don't hear a soundAnd please don't come around
Bringin' me down
Tossin' and turnin'
My smile's upside down
Yeah, yeah, uh uhIt's all or nothing
We'll be one or none
Right now you need to know
That I cannot begin again
After what just happened
This ain't no TV show
My heart's completely broke
So, so, yes, yesPlease don't come around
Bringin' me down
Tossin' and turnin'
My smile's upside downPlease don't come around
Bringin' me down
And I miss your love baby
And I miss your lovin'
So stay away from mePlease don't come around
Stay away, stay away from me
Stay away, stay awayPlease don't come around
Bringin' me down
Tossin' and turnin'
My smile's upside down

Macy Gray (born Natalie McIntyre September 6, 1967) from Canton, Ohio is a Grammy Award winning neo soul/R&B singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. To date, Macy has released five studio albums, one compilation album and a live album. She has acted in a number of movies including Training Day, Idlewild, and Lackawanna Blues, Gray is best known for her international hit single "I Try", taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is. Other hits include "Sweet Baby," "Do Something," "When I See You," and "Beauty in the World."

Macy Gray was originally hesitant to record a studio album due to what is, arguably, her most recognizable feature -- her voice. She started her music career as a songwriter. Her first album was actually a mistake; she was at the studio waiting for the person who was supposed to be singing her song, and the producer wanted to hear what one of the songs was supposed to sound like. Once she started singing, the producer liked the rough sound of her voice so much he offered her a record deal.
