Ears Lyrics

Gone as far as I
I can go with this crap
I've not come here
Just toWatch him lie
With his head in your lap
Well, at least not there
Oh, must you?I've gone as far as I, I can go with this crap
(But this is all your fault)
I've not come here just to
(We made a solemn promise)Watch him lie with his head in your lap
(You said, "Let's be adult")
Well, at least not there
(There's no point running from it)When you started to screw, I knew
I should have run away
'Cause I could hear it all through the wall
But I just had to stayEvery laugh, every cry
Every sigh, oh, I can't face
The way I've behaved

But I just craved to be in his placeTold him when we met
I told him I was afraid
That you'd just play
With himBut I won't forget
Those sounds that you made
Behind that door
With himI told him when we met, I told him I was afraid
(But this is all your fault)
That you'd just play with him
(We made a solemn promise)But I won't forget those sounds that you made
(You said, "Let's be adult")
Behind that door
(There's no point running from it)When you started to screw, I knew
I should have run away
'Cause I could hear it all through the wall
But I just had to stayEvery laugh, every cry
Every sigh, I can't face
The way I've behaved
I just craved to be in his place

Cinerama from Leeds, UK started life as a duo in 1997, The Wedding Present's David Gedge and his girlfriend Sally Murrell, together with a shifting line-up of collaborators. 1998's Va Va Voom "turbo-driven melodies and bittersweet vignettes taking in everything from John Barry to the Zombies" (The Times) featured The Church's Marty Willson-Piper and Emma Pollock from The Delgados. Then later in 1998, Gedge rescued the rhythm section of the disbanded Goya Dress ([Terry de Castro and Simon Pearson) and combined them with Wedding Present guitarist Simon Cleave.
