Ghetto Love Lyrics

Lately, I been high stepping
I've got a lover who is ghetto for real
Take me to movies and he's carrying steel
Lord of the corner, king of the block
Lacing his lady with chinchillas and rocks
And he's all I, oh, I want in my world
Ghetto love
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
We get high together
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
Lately I been high stepping
Lord of my body, king of my heart
Gangster by day, Hennessey passion by dark
They try to beat us but they can't
We don't give a fuck
They try to beat us but they can't
We don't give a fuck
And he's all I, I want in my world

Ghetto love
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
We get high together
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
Ghetto love
I never worry when he's gone till November
He taught me how to keep my hands on the trigger
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
We get high together
Ghetto love
We get high
They say is name is with chinchillas and rocks
Ghetto love
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
They try to beat us but they can't
We don't give a fuck
Ghetto love
Yeah, I want in my world
(G H E T T O, G H E T T O)
Ghetto love
Yeah, I want in my world
Ghetto love

Macy Gray (born Natalie McIntyre September 6, 1967) from Canton, Ohio is a Grammy Award winning neo soul/R&B singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. To date, Macy has released five studio albums, one compilation album and a live album. She has acted in a number of movies including Training Day, Idlewild, and Lackawanna Blues, Gray is best known for her international hit single "I Try", taken from her multi-platinum debut album On How Life Is. Other hits include "Sweet Baby," "Do Something," "When I See You," and "Beauty in the World."

Macy Gray was originally hesitant to record a studio album due to what is, arguably, her most recognizable feature -- her voice. She started her music career as a songwriter. Her first album was actually a mistake; she was at the studio waiting for the person who was supposed to be singing her song, and the producer wanted to hear what one of the songs was supposed to sound like. Once she started singing, the producer liked the rough sound of her voice so much he offered her a record deal.
