Gravity Lyrics

Waking up on the ceiling
Got an uptight downbeat feeling
It's a long way from okay todayIs this a trick, maybe voodoo
I don't stick to the ground like you do
Discriminated, float unweighted
Now get me downGravity seems to be malfunctioning
Gravity took a holiday
Suddenly, nothing is making sense to me, again
Gravity pulls the world awayUp is down off balance
I've been singled out by science
In suspense, what's the sense
In choosing meTangled up in g-forces
Why did I skip my physics courses
Losing grip, I'm slipping toward the sun
You call this funGravity seems to be malfunctioning
Gravity took a holiday
Suddenly, nothing is making sense to me, again
Gravity pulls the world away, yeahEverything is synthetic

Light years from copasetic
I lost the laws of effect and cause today
I drift awayGravity seems to be malfunctioning
Gravity took a holiday
Suddenly, nothing is making sense to me, again
Gravity pulls the world awayGravity seems to be malfunctioning
Gravity took a holiday
Suddenly, this place makes no sense to me, again
Gravity pulls the world away

The Bridgewater, NJ-based hardcore band Shades Apart formed in 1988, comprising singer/guitarist Mark V., bassist Kevin Lynch and drummer Ed Brown. After releasing their self-titled debut later that year on the Wishingwell label, the trio fell silent before resurfacing in 1992 with the Sunspot EP Dude Danger; another label change, this time to Skene, followed for the 1993 EP Neon. All members Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton produced Shades Apart's next LP, 1995's Save It, which scored a minor hit with its punked-up cover of Soft Cell's "Tainted Love.
