Stranger by the Day Lyrics

Snow is falling from the sky in the middle of July
Sun was shining in my eyes again last night
Alarm goes off without a sound
The silence is so loud, something isn't rightFootsteps echo down the hall, no one's there at all
Dial your number but your voice says, "I'm not home"
Everything is inside out, I don't know what it's aboutIt keeps getting stranger by the day
Stranger by the day
It keeps getting stranger by the day
Stranger by the dayGoin' for a walk outside to see what I can find
No reflections in the windows I pass by
It feels hotter in the shade, water's runnin' up the drain
Something's goin' onConversations with a mime stared at by the blind
Imagination must be workin' overtime
The world is upside down, everything is turned aroundIt keeps getting stranger by the day
Stranger by the day
It keeps getting stranger by the day
Stranger by the dayBy the time I reach your door, I can't take anymore
I just happened to be in your neighborhood

I'm the one who gets surprised
I don't believe my eyes, your alibi's no goodWhatever happened to the world
Whatever happened to the girl, I thought I knew
It just can't be true, I guess I'm losing you, youStranger by the day, stranger by the day
It keeps gettin' stranger by the day
Stranger by the day, stranger by the day
Stranger by the day, stranger by the day
Yeah, yeah

The Bridgewater, NJ-based hardcore band Shades Apart formed in 1988, comprising singer/guitarist Mark V., bassist Kevin Lynch and drummer Ed Brown. After releasing their self-titled debut later that year on the Wishingwell label, the trio fell silent before resurfacing in 1992 with the Sunspot EP Dude Danger; another label change, this time to Skene, followed for the 1993 EP Neon. All members Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton produced Shades Apart's next LP, 1995's Save It, which scored a minor hit with its punked-up cover of Soft Cell's "Tainted Love.
