Heartaches by the Number Lyrics

Now, I've got heartaches by the number, troubles by the score
Every day you love me less, each day I love you more
Heartaches by the number, a love that I can't win
But the day that I stop counting, that's the day my world will endAnd heartache number one was when you left me
I never knew that I could hurt this way
Heartache number two was when you came back again
You came back but never meant to stayHeartaches by the number, troubles by the score
Every day you love me less, each day I love you more
Heartaches by the number, a love that I can't win
But the day that I stop counting, that's the day my world will end

There, he became an immediate success, his songs recorded by innumerable country artists. Among his biggest hits was the Patsy Cline classic “I Fall to Pieces.” A member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame, he was a force in country music until his death.
