Honey Rider (Acoustic Version) Lyrics

Oh I'm sick of hearing you say
That you can't 'phone because he'll hear you calling
But don't you think the way
That you're treating us both is quite appalling?Oh, sure, you nearly told him everything
But nearly doesn't mean a thingI know you don't want to row
Oh but you think you're just so clever
Well, I'm waiting now
But I won't be waiting here foreverOh, sure, you nearly told him everything
But nearly doesn't mean a thingAnd you know full well I'm right
And if you won't say a word, I might
Because you've had thousands of chances
To tell him his romance is
Not exactly what he'd call true
I know the strain that you're under
But I've started to wonder
If one lover is sufficient for youOh, sure, you nearly told him everything
But nearly doesn't mean a thingIf you don't talk to him until I force you to, I will
Because you know full well I'm right

And if you won't say a word, I mightBecause you've had thousands of chances
To tell him his romance is
Not exactly what he'd call true
I know the strain that you're under
But I've started to wonder
If one lover is sufficient for you

Cinerama from Leeds, UK started life as a duo in 1997, The Wedding Present's David Gedge and his girlfriend Sally Murrell, together with a shifting line-up of collaborators. 1998's Va Va Voom "turbo-driven melodies and bittersweet vignettes taking in everything from John Barry to the Zombies" (The Times) featured The Church's Marty Willson-Piper and Emma Pollock from The Delgados. Then later in 1998, Gedge rescued the rhythm section of the disbanded Goya Dress ([Terry de Castro and Simon Pearson) and combined them with Wedding Present guitarist Simon Cleave.
