Keep the Light On Lyrics

Everybody's on his own track
there ain't one road
there ain't one map
comeon, keep the light on.been gone so long my jeans are faded
i seen this world, its so over-rated
comeon, keep the light oncause im comin home tonight
yea, im comin home tonightPut on that dress,
red one i gave ya
lets spend our night
get reaquainted
comeon keep the light onwe'll call the boys
tell em all i'm coming
this soldiers rocking
get that jukebox humming
comeon, keep the light oncause im coming home tonight
yea im comin home tonight[CHORUS]
now is the time, lets take a chance
let's take the world by the seat of this van

let's make some noise
lets make it last
just give me a sign, baby
keep the light onnkeep the light onnlets shake the stands and wake the nation
ill ram it in third
and im coming home
comeon, keep the light onwe'll call my folks
and call the papers,
im on my way this time im staying
comeon, keep the light oncause im coming home tonight
yea, im coming home tonight[CHORUS]
now is the time, lets take a chance
let's take the world by the seat of this van
let's make some noise
lets make it last
just give me a sign, baby
keep the light onnkeep the light on

During the winter of 2002, Marc Hannon and Stuart Irwin met for the first time and discussed forming a band. Unfortunately, they didn’t meet again until over a year later, but on the same day as being reintroduced they made their first recording together.

By the following month they were performing together live as The Great Northwestern Hoboes around the city of Liverpool when, one fine mid-summers evening, they were watched by a familiar looking stranger, Robbie Taylor, in a basement on the outskirts of town. Robbie joined the band and in a matter of weeks they were playing live as a three-piece, using an old disused house for rehearsals.

The line-up was completed when Nick Walker joined on drums in October of the same year and only month later, after a handful of gigs, they were signed up by Viper Records to release two singles, Between Catharine and Hope and Change Your Tune. Both singles received excellent reviews and were broadcast on national and local radio, throughout Europe and across the Atlantic. Subsequently they were one of very few Liverpool bands chosen to perform for BBC Radio 2’s fringe events which were held in the city.

In 2007, they continue to build up a local following while venturing to play various venues throughout the UK. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
