Maybe Not Lyrics

There’s a dream that I see, I pray it can be
Look cross the land, shake this land, a wish or a command
I Dream that I see, don’t kill it, it’s free
You’re just a man, you get what you can
We all do what we can
So we can do just one more thing
We can all be free
Maybe not in words
Maybe not with a look
But with your mind
Listen to me, don’t walk that street
There’s always an end to it
Come and be free, you know who I am
We’re just living people
We won’t have a thing
So we’d got nothing to lose
We can all be free
Maybe not with words

Maybe not with a look
But with your mind
You’ve got to choose a wish or command
At the turn of the tide, is withering thee
Remember one thing, the dream you can see
Pray to be, shake this land
We all do what we can
So we can do just one more thing
We won’t have a thing
So we’ve got nothing to lose
We can all be free
Maybe not with words
Maybe with a look
But with your mind
But with your mind

Born Ian James Currie (1982) in Grantsville West Virginia, Ghani Gautama first picked up the mic in Myrtle Beach South Carolina at age 16 as the front man for rap-rock outfit, Pure Irate Souls. After relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 2000 he linked up with DJ/Producer Metrognome and the duo recruited several neighbors and art school classmates to form Street Temple Emcees. With Gautama taking on the bulk of the writing and Metrognome manning the helm Street Temple recorded one album, 2005's "Asphalt Prophets." The pressures of recording and promoting and album led to Street Temple's demise and after an extended hiatus, Ghani Gautama returned to the music scene with his 2008 solo debut, "Give 'Em Enough Hope." On the strength of his debut release Gautama went on to tour nationally as a part of Quanstar's "Bring Your A Game Tour" and has shared stages with the likes of Immortal Technique, Akil the MC (of Jurassic 5) and Little Brother's Rapper Big Pooh. In early 2010 Ghani Gautama released his sophomore effort entitled "Few Against Many" and actively tours from his home base of Charlotte, North Carolina. Read more on Last.fm.
