Nowhere, Massachusetts Lyrics

It was wintertime I was watching the boys shoot rockets at the girls
January, New Year and I'm watching the northern lights swirl
You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
Now I'm in New York City and I'm watching the birds and the dogs
All the ladies laughing and men with their dirty thoughts
You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
It was wintertime I was watching the boys shoot rockets at the girls
January, New Year and I'm watching the northern lights swirl
You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere

You were in Nowhere, Massachusetts
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere
You were in Nowhere

Black Prairie is an experimental bluegrass side project of three members of The Decemberists in Portland, Oregon. The group formed in early 2007, bringing Decemberists members Jenny Conlee (vocals, accordian), Nate Query (bass, cello) and Chris Funk (vocals, bazouki, dobro, weissenborn) together with fellow Portland musicians Annalisa Tornfelt (vocals, fiddle) and Jon Neufeld (guitar, vocals). “The first gatherings were a little daunting as we were all used to the traditional song form,” Funk said in a statement.
