Rock of Ages Lyrics

Verse 1
I am the rain too cool
Late in the evening
I am the morning blue
Before birds singHot in the afternoon
When I've nothing left
When I'm tempted to
Wake you from your rest
Wake you from your restChorus
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of agesVerse 2
I am the river wide
Cross me never
I am the mountainside
All kinds of weather
All kinds of weatherChorus

I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of agesI am your rock of ages
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of ages
I am your rock of agesI am the rain too cool
Late in the evening

Black Prairie is an experimental bluegrass side project of three members of The Decemberists in Portland, Oregon. The group formed in early 2007, bringing Decemberists members Jenny Conlee (vocals, accordian), Nate Query (bass, cello) and Chris Funk (vocals, bazouki, dobro, weissenborn) together with fellow Portland musicians Annalisa Tornfelt (vocals, fiddle) and Jon Neufeld (guitar, vocals). “The first gatherings were a little daunting as we were all used to the traditional song form,” Funk said in a statement.
