One Starry Night Lyrics

Eric's room gets too small one night
(He)
Takes his whole apartment outside
Down at his desk he sits and writes
Under a streetlightOne starry night just like tonight when these
City lights seem like candlelight
One starry night somewhere between midnight
And sunrise everything will be alrightOn the steps someone plays guitar
Carrying into the dark
Far off a saxophone begins following along
Writing the same songOne starry night just like tonight when these
City lights seem like candlelight
One starry night somewhere between midnight
And sunrise everything will be alrightAngela hears the music play
Sees Eric and suddenly the lights change
Dare she let her heart take this one chance?
She says, do you want to dance?

The Bridgewater, NJ-based hardcore band Shades Apart formed in 1988, comprising singer/guitarist Mark V., bassist Kevin Lynch and drummer Ed Brown. After releasing their self-titled debut later that year on the Wishingwell label, the trio fell silent before resurfacing in 1992 with the Sunspot EP Dude Danger; another label change, this time to Skene, followed for the 1993 EP Neon. All members Bill Stevenson and Stephen Egerton produced Shades Apart's next LP, 1995's Save It, which scored a minor hit with its punked-up cover of Soft Cell's "Tainted Love.
