Ordinary Girl Lyrics

How will I know if someone loves me
How will I know if there's no one else
Dying to have someone who loves me
But I want them to love me for myselfLooked for love in all the wrong places
I've searched the moon and stars
Found myself lost in a world of faces
The place I didn't look was my heartI've been all around the world trying to find something new
Lord knows that something was you
'Cause I found in myself the one thing that's true
All I want is an ordinary girl, all I need is an ordinary girlI just want someone I can talk to
Someone I can lean on now and then
And I don't wanna lie and pretend I'm someone else
I'm just looking for a friendMy heart was going through so many changes
I didn't know which way to turn
Just when I thought I had all of the answers
I found I still had so much to learnI've been all around the world trying to find something new
Lord knows that something was you
'Cause I found in myself the one thing that's true

All I want is an ordinary girl, all I need is an ordinary girl
Someone to love meI just wanna feel lost in love forever
Wanna see that look in your eyes
I hope then you'll understand what I am saying, baby
'Cause girl I need you right by my sideI've been all around the world trying to find something new
Lord knows that something was you
'Cause I found in myself the one thing that's true
All I want is an ordinary girl, all I need is an ordinary girl
Someone to love meYou know I've been all around the world
Trying to find someone new
Ha, you know what ended up my search
That someone was you
And I found in my heart there can be no one but youAll I need is an ordinary girl, your love, my love
You know Heaven send you from above, oh girl, it's only you
You're the best thing in my life girl
You're the best thing in my life oh, oh girl
[Incomprehensible]

Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, composer, and occasional actor. He got his start as the front man for the Commodores, a nationally popular Motown band during the 70's. They had several hits such as Easy, Three Times a Lady, and probably the Commodores' most famous hit, Brick House.

Richie quit the band in 1981 for a solo career. He released his self-titled debut in 1982. The album hit No. 3 on the charts and sold over 4 million copies. His follow up album, Can't Slow Down, sold over twice as many copies and won the Grammy for Album of the Year in '84. His third album, '86's Dancing On The Ceiling spawned such hits as Say You, Say Me, Dancing on the Ceiling, and Se La, but would be the end of his commercial success.

His 90's albums such as Back to Front, Louder Than Words, and Time all failed to achieve the previous decade's commercial success. Some of his recent work, such as the album Renaissance, has returned to his older style, hoping to achieve more success.
