Pour Lyrics

Everything I am is resting in my jar
Holding nothing back from entering my jar
My hopes and dreams I put in my jar
You find my jar as beautifulDeep the sorrow and pain I put in my jar
Times seem so hard, I put them in my jar
My violence burns you've consumed my heart
Desperation ends with desertion inA moment of intimacy
My life explained and unpronounced
Falling at your feet, I kneel perpetuallyStaring at my jar, I proceed to pour it out
The loss and gain goes on and on and on and onYou're in the blood and You're all around
Beauty speaks without a sound
Raging flood, You're the peace need, down, pour downAll my fears and needs I put in my jar
I'd give everything to know who You are
The open space around Your feet
Becomes my resting place, my destinyStaring at my jar, I proceed to pour it out
The loss and gain goes on and on and on and onYou're in the blood and You're all around
Beauty speaks without a sound
Raging flood, You're the peace I need, down, pour downYou're in the blood and You're all around

Beauty speaks without a sound
Raging flood, You're the peace I need, down, pour down
And all You're, is all I need, You're all I needA moment of intimacy
My life explained and unpronounced
Falling at your feet I kneel perpetuallyStaring at my jar, I proceed to pour it out
The loss and gain goes on and on and on and onYou're in the blood and You're all around
Beauty speaks without a sound
Raging flood, You're the peace I need, down, pour downYou're in the blood and You're all around
Beauty speaks without a sound
Raging flood, You're the peace I need, down, pour downYou're in my blood, in my blood
In my blood, in my blood
In my blood, in my blood
In my blood, in my blood
All You are, is all I need, is all I need, is all I need

Brian Eno first came across the work of Rick Holland in the late 90’s during the Map-Making project; a series of collaborative works between students of the Royal College, the Guildhall School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, the National Youth Orchestra and the English National Ballet, among others. In 2003, Brian and Rick made their first music together (the resulting work does not appear on this album). In the intervening time since that initial session they have met infrequently to work on new compositions.
