The Real Lyrics

Nothing is real but it's real if you want it to be
(Ideas in my mind none self subsisting)
Look forward to life all of your life
Just your life not a dream, yeah
(Hello, I've been waiting to meet you)
So turn around you will still feel
That the real is deep inside
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left to hide, I said it, yeah
Turn around you will still feel
That the real is deep inside, I said it, yeah
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left to hide, I said it, yeah
Live in your hole, box your soul
Without hope, pride or faith
(Depend on full attempt of boundary)
Turn around before you fear what you've found
(Turn around and face me now)

So turn around you will still feel
That the real is deep inside
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left to hide, I said it, yeah
Turn around you will still feel
That the real is deep inside
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left, nothing left to hide
(So turn around)
I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left to hide [Incomprehensible]
(So turn around)
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left, nothing left to hide, yeah
There's nothing left, nothing left to hide, yeah
There's nothing left, nothing left to hide, yeah
(Turn around and face me now)
So turn around you will still feel
That the real is deep inside
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left to hide, I said it, yeah
Turn around you will still feel
That the real is deep inside
And I have opened all my doors
So there's nothing left, nothing left to hide, yeah
There's nothing left, nothing left to hide, yeah
There's nothing left, nothing left to hide
Nothing is real but it's real if you want it to be
Nothing is real but it's real if you want it to be
Nothing is real but it's real if you want it to be
Nothing is real but it's real if you want it to be
Nothing is real but it's real if you want it to be

Brian Eno first came across the work of Rick Holland in the late 90’s during the Map-Making project; a series of collaborative works between students of the Royal College, the Guildhall School of Music, the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal College of Music, the National Youth Orchestra and the English National Ballet, among others. In 2003, Brian and Rick made their first music together (the resulting work does not appear on this album). In the intervening time since that initial session they have met infrequently to work on new compositions.
