Reuben Lyrics

Well, who's gonna shoe your pretty little foot?
Who's gonna glove your hand?
Who's gonna kiss your red ruby lips?
And who's gonna be your man?Is that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?
Is that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?Well, papa's gonna shoe my pretty little foot
Mama's gonna glove my hand
Sister's gonna kiss my red ruby lips
And I don't need no manWell, I don't need no man
No, I don't need no man
Sister's gonna kiss my red ruby lips
And I don't need no manIs that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?
Is that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?Well, the longest train that I ever saw
It was 90 coaches long
And the only man that I ever loved

He was on that train and goneIs that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?
Is that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?Oh, where'd you get that hat you wear
And that coat you got so fine?
Well, I got my hat from a railroad man
And my coat from a worker in the mineIs that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?
Is that you Reuben?
Reuben, where have you been so long?Well, Reuben made a train, he put it on the track
Run it to, the Lord knows where
Well, Reuben made a train, he put it on the track
Run it to, the Lord knows where

Lester Raymond Flatt (June 19, 1914 - May 11, 1979) was one of the pioneers of bluegrass music. Flatt was born in Jackson County, Tennessee to Nannie Mae Haney and Isaac Columbus Flatt.[1] A singer and guitarist, he first came to prominence as a member of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys in the 1940s. In 1948 he started a band with fellow Monroe alumnus Earl Scruggs, and for the next twenty years Flatt and Scruggs and the Foggy Mountain Boys were one of the most successful bands in bluegrass.
