She's Happy Lyrics

Hey, let me tell you 'bout a girl I know
Sat in her room one day, staring out the window
She made a mel-o-dy and grabbed the old pencil
And she tapped it on her lap and made her own tempo
Time went by all night she wrote
She heard her older sister yelling at her through the door
Your mama said u betta come on before your food get cold
But she kept on writing 'til the pencil broke
Ain't no need for you to worry
Ain't no need for you to cry
Ain't no need to be discouraged
You can see it in her eyes
Don't worry (Don't worry, don't worry)
'Cause she's happy (She's happy, she's happy)
Ain't no need for you to worry
Ain't no need for you to trip
You can tell just by her swagger
Yeah, you know she's stacking chips

Don't worry (Don't worry, don't worry) (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
'Cause she's happy (She's happy, she's happy)
She hung outside of the corner store
Her and her friends singing songs with the radio
She would pretend she was performing at a sold out show
And the people stopped and listened then they asked for more
She came in first in the talent show
Her fam went on and on about it the whole ride home
She said I've never got so many compliments before
Her momma said, 'Girl, you gon' make it. Baby, I just know'
Ain't no need for you to worry
Ain't no need for you to cry
Ain't no need to be discouraged
You can see it in her eyes
Don't worry (Don't worry, don't worry)
'Cause she's happy (She's happy, she's happy)
Ain't no need for you to worry
Ain't no need for you to trip
You can tell just by her swagger
Yeah, you know she's stacking chips
Don't worry (Don't worry, don't worry) (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
'Cause she's happy (She's happy, she's happy)
She heard about a site that was called MySpace
Her cousin told her, 'You should put up all the songs you made'
Next thing you know she got hundreds and thousands of plays
And got noticed by a guy that came by her page
They flew her first thing out to L.A.
They had her sing of few songs, I guess she did okay
Now she signed, doing fine, and well on her way
Yeah, I guess you figured out that girl is me
Ain't no need for you to worry
Ain't no need for you to cry
Ain't no need to be discouraged
You can see it in her eyes
Don't worry (Don't worry, don't worry)
'Cause she's happy (She's happy, she's happy)
Ain't no need for you to worry
Ain't no need for you to trip
You can tell just by her swagger
Yeah, you know she's stacking chips
Don't worry (Don't worry, don't worry) (Yeah, yeah, yeah)
'Cause she's happy (She's happy, she's happy)
Hey!

The Gear Daddies is a band from Austin, Minnesota that enjoyed moderate success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Its members were Randy Broughten (electric and steel guitar), Nick Ciola (bass), Billy Dankert (drums and vocals), and Martin Zellar (guitar and vocals). Their most mainstream success was when they played Late Night with David Letterman in 1991. Ciola and Dankert did not play on the show because many bands simply sat in with Paul Shaffer and The World's Most Dangerous Band when playing the show.
