Sister Lyrics

Sister, come back home
Mom and dad are mad at me and
Gone looking for you
Sister, what did you do?
Folks say you're at that age,
Goin' through some kinda stage, but
It's safe now, the coast is clear
Come back,
I'm the only one here sister
Oooooh ooh ooh ooh...
Sister, I need to know,
Why you're fighting this world so
Old enough to dare,
Too young to be treated fairly
Too bold to be told, sister
Oh oh ohh ooh... sister, oooh, ooh, oooh...
I heard voices, high
Saw tears but did not ask why

You fought back with crass, sister
Some loves are bound to be
Much more than the world believes
You locked the door and you left the key behind
I pray that you'll come to
Your senses, and when you do
Hear my plaintive moan
See how these strange minds grow
Your feeling at home, sister
Ooooh ooh ooh ohh... sister
Ooooh oooh oooh... Sister
Ooooh oooh oooh... Sister...

Vetiver is an American folk band headed by songwriter Andy Cabic and often joined by Devendra Banhart, cellist Alissa Anderson, and violinist Jim Gaylord. They released their debut album Vetiver in 2004 on the small indie folk label DiCristina. Since the album's release Vetiver has toured extensively, opening for and collaborating with Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom. Before moving to San Francisco Cabic was a member of the North Carolina indie rock band The Raymond Brake who released some records on the now-defunct Simple Machines label.
