Sly Curl Lyrics

Are you sure he treasures you?
Cause I think he's a philanderer
He didn't close his eyes when he kissed you
And I know he's seeing other women tooWhereas I've loved you and thought of you
ever since the day I drove you
into someone else's bed
(I'm still not sure how)
You'll see the new me
You used to say
I never listened to a word you said
I'm listening now
I thought you'd always be there
but I woke up and you were gone
I still remember all the games we played
Losing you was the biggest mistake I made, because:
I've loved you and thought of you ever since the day
I drove you into someone else's bed
(I'm still not sure how)

You'll see the new me
You used to say I never listened to a word you said --
Well, I'm listening now(I don't remember when we first met --she was just always there, small and mink, a sly curl about her lips that drew me in. We spent the summer days inside an orange tent in the garden, feeling dizzy and Greek, drinking warm Tizer. Then one day a rush of flying ants flushed us out, blinking into the sunlight, swarming around us as we ran. We tried to lose ourselves in the woods, shutting our eyes and bumping into trees, smelling the wild garlic underfoot, but she always knew the way -- maybe she cheated, but I just thought she was smarter than me.)

Cinerama from Leeds, UK started life as a duo in 1997, The Wedding Present's David Gedge and his girlfriend Sally Murrell, together with a shifting line-up of collaborators. 1998's Va Va Voom "turbo-driven melodies and bittersweet vignettes taking in everything from John Barry to the Zombies" (The Times) featured The Church's Marty Willson-Piper and Emma Pollock from The Delgados. Then later in 1998, Gedge rescued the rhythm section of the disbanded Goya Dress ([Terry de Castro and Simon Pearson) and combined them with Wedding Present guitarist Simon Cleave.
