Sweet Vacation Lyrics

Just say come on let's be alone, babe
Just say you want to spend some time with me
Just say be anywhere we are
It's all about love and anything we wanna beJust say you feel the fire burning now
Just say the sun only shines on your face
Just say this love can last forever
I want to show you how much I want to know youThere's a dream that I'm dreaming inside my head
And I know just right where we're going
Come on and take this ride
Just come on inside and make this dream realityLet's both just get away, your smile's my holiday
Don't you know that you're my sweet vacationJust say, just put your heart in my hand
Just say I'll lay the whole world at your feet
Just say we're going on a journey
And I can't deny what I'm feeling insideNow I see the joy, I see the laughter we just don't care
Happiness will never leave us alone
You know there's such a place, a wonderful place
Where love can find you and me, ohLet's both just get away, your smile's my holiday
Don't you know that you're my sweet vacation

Let's both just get away, your smile's my holiday
Don't you know that you're my sweet vacationWhat I wanna say right here girl is
When I think about you, baby
When I talk about you, baby
What I say about you, baby
World should know about you, baby'Cause I really need you, baby
'Cause I really love you, baby
See I really miss you, baby
Come on, let's get awayLet's both just get away, your smile's my holiday
You're my sweet vacation
Through storms we'll find the stars, sometimes they tell us who we are
Don't you know that you're my sweet vacation

Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, composer, and occasional actor. He got his start as the front man for the Commodores, a nationally popular Motown band during the 70's. They had several hits such as Easy, Three Times a Lady, and probably the Commodores' most famous hit, Brick House.

Richie quit the band in 1981 for a solo career. He released his self-titled debut in 1982. The album hit No. 3 on the charts and sold over 4 million copies. His follow up album, Can't Slow Down, sold over twice as many copies and won the Grammy for Album of the Year in '84. His third album, '86's Dancing On The Ceiling spawned such hits as Say You, Say Me, Dancing on the Ceiling, and Se La, but would be the end of his commercial success.

His 90's albums such as Back to Front, Louder Than Words, and Time all failed to achieve the previous decade's commercial success. Some of his recent work, such as the album Renaissance, has returned to his older style, hoping to achieve more success.
