Switch! Lyrics

HeyI met him at the book store
He said he'd like to get to know me
Just a little more, asked me to dinner
I said, "I'd bring my girlfriend"
He said, "That's cool"'Cause he was gonna bring
His best friend but something happened
That I wasn't expecting his best friend
All night has my attentionKnow it was wrong, I couldn't help it
And I don't care, I'm bein' selfish
Know what I want
And I want your best friendAin't gonna front, uh, uh
I want your best friend, hey boy
I think I like your best friend, would you mind
If I dinned with your best friend, switchAnd you can take my girlfriend
I hardly know you, so there is no attachments
You take my chair, I'll sit right there
Well, see how that feelsAnd don't be mean
And make a scene, it ain't a big deal

'Cause somethin' happened
That I wasn't expecting his best friend
All night had my attentionKnow it was wrong, I couldn't help it
And I don't care, I'm bein' selfish
Know what I want
And I want your best friendAin't gonna front, uh, uh
I want your best friend, hey boy
I think I like your best friend, would you mind
If I dinned with your best friend, switchSee baby, it really ain't a big deal
(Switch)
I mean, you a nice guy and all but
(Switch)If I met him when I met you
(Switch)
He probably would've got the phone callDon't make no sense to leave
With the wrong guy when your best friend
Could be the love of my lifeKnow it was wrong, I couldn't help it
And I don't care, I'm bein' selfish
Know what I want
And I want your best friendAin't gonna front, uh uh
I want your best friend, hey boy
I think I like your best friend, would you mind
If I dinned with your best friend, switch?Somethin' happened unexpected
She didn't think that this would happen
She liked this guy, had a connectionIt's just with her dates best friend
Ha, ha, ha, ha
Who would've guessed it that she'd suggest
That they should just switchSwitch, switch, switch, switch, hey boy
I think I like your best friend, would you mind
If I dinned with your best friend, switch?

Biography
Contemporary R&B rising star Jazmine Sullivan spent several years learning the ropes of the recording industry before signing to J Records and making her solo recording debut in 2008 with "Need U Bad."

The Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter began her career at a young age, making her national television debut on Showtime at the Apollo at age 11. Jazmine sang at Stevie Wonder's birthday party at age 1l3 and signed to Jive Records at age 15. Her stint at Jive Records only lasted a couple years, however, and she was dropped by the label before any recordings were released. In the wake of this disappointment, she began working behind the scenes, for instance working with Missy Elliott on productions for Fantasia's debut album, Free Yourself (2004), and writing a couple songs for Christina Milian's third album, So Amazin' (2006), including the hit single "Say I." Sullivan was then offered a solo recording contract with J Records, which released her debut single, "Need U Bad," featuring and co-produced by Missy Elliott, in 2008. Fearless, her full-length album debut, featuring productions by Salaam Remi and Stargate, among others, was issued that September. US Singles were Need U Bad, Bust Your Windows and Lions, Tigers & Bears. Dream Big was the fourth single in the US and first single in the UK.

In 2009 Sullivan hit the studio again to record songs for her sophomore record. Released on November 29th, 2010, Love Me Back was a contemporary R&B album with touches of pop, soul, urban dance and a song with a gospel-like chorus. Production was done by Anthony Bell, Missy Elliott, Toby Gad, Chuck Harmony, Cainon Lamb, Los da Mystro, Ne-Yo, No I.D., Prolyfic and Salaam Remi. The first single Holdin' You Down (Going In Circles) peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart. The following and final single 10 Seconds reached a high of 18 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

On October 7, 2011 J Records along with Arista and Jive disbanded and will from now all release material under RCA Records.

Jazmine's junior effort is expected some time in 2013. Other details about the record are scarce.
