Tell Me (Demo Version) Lyrics

One, two, three, fourSad, sad story, about all the things I've heard
Now baby, there's something on my mind
You said I was your true love
But I hear you're foolin' 'round
I gotta know girl what's going downOh, tell me, where do we go from here and
Are you just playin' me for a fool
Lover I'm tired of people talking
Why don't you tell me girl if we're through?
Why can't I hear it from you?Everybody's talkin'
They say you're leaving me
They say you don't want me no more
Oh babyI need some understanding
Tell me who's right and who's wrong
Baby yeah
Do I stay with you, do I move along?Oh tell me, don't have me goin' crazy
Please don't you keep me hangin' on
I, I can't stand it
Wondering if you still love me

Wondering if what they say is true
I wanna hear it from youTell me, where do we go from here and
Please don't you keep me hangin' on
I, just can't stand it
Wondering if you still love me
Wondering if what they say is truePlease tell me baby if it's true
Tell me baby
Tell me baby what's on your mindTell me, tell me yeah
Tell me baby what's on your mind
Tell me, tell me yeah
What's on your mind
Tell me, tell me yeah
Tired of people talkingTired of all my friends telling me about you
You see, looking for some understanding
I've got to know right now girl if it's true
Don't keep me hangin'on baby
Can't you see me standin' here askin' you
Come on and tell me
Don't hurt me baby
Tell me yeahLove me girl or leave me alone
Tell me, tell me yeah
Don't tease me
Tell me
Don't tease me baby
Tell me yeah
Oh, tell me, tell me yeah

Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949 in Tuskegee, Alabama) is an American R&B singer, songwriter, composer, and occasional actor. He got his start as the front man for the Commodores, a nationally popular Motown band during the 70's. They had several hits such as Easy, Three Times a Lady, and probably the Commodores' most famous hit, Brick House.

Richie quit the band in 1981 for a solo career. He released his self-titled debut in 1982. The album hit No. 3 on the charts and sold over 4 million copies. His follow up album, Can't Slow Down, sold over twice as many copies and won the Grammy for Album of the Year in '84. His third album, '86's Dancing On The Ceiling spawned such hits as Say You, Say Me, Dancing on the Ceiling, and Se La, but would be the end of his commercial success.

His 90's albums such as Back to Front, Louder Than Words, and Time all failed to achieve the previous decade's commercial success. Some of his recent work, such as the album Renaissance, has returned to his older style, hoping to achieve more success.
