Tell Me Why Lyrics

Alright, I talked to mother just today
She told me daddy walked away
Now everything's about to changeOh, I sought for words, I could not find
Thousand questions filled my mind
How could you throw it all away?My heart is left without a home
But I won't let it turn to stone
There's got to be another way
Ooh, 'cause I can't take this painTell me why, tell me why
Why do people run away
Can we try, try to find
Try to find the will to stayA beating heart, a tender kiss
Love is so much more than this
Always givin' in and never givin' upI know the man I want to be
I've seen enough of misery
It's time for me to break free, yeahDoubt may whisper in my ear
But I will love in spite of fear
With everything inside of me, yeah
Tell me, is it just a dreamTell me why, tell me why

Why do people run away
Can we try, try to find
Try to find the will to stayI'm finally finding my way back to love
My way back to love again
Oh, I'm finally finding my way back to love
My way back to love againDoubt may whisper in my ear
That I will love in spite of fear
With everything inside of me
Oh, does anyone believeTell me why, tell me why
Why do people run away
Can we try, try to find
Tell me why we run away'Cause every time you run
Every time you run away
Can we try, can we try, try, try, try
You don't have to run
You don't have to run away, oh

According to frontman and DC Talk member Michael Tait, the band Tait was born in 1996 when he met drummer Chad Chapin. The two performed a cover of the song Curious George, followed by a bevy of Pearl Jam tracks. From this, Tait emerged and added two new members, former Grammatrain member Pete Stewart and former Petra bass player Lonnie Chapin. The group is named for Michael Tait's late father, of whom he says "taught me how to appreciate the human experience whether it be a sunny day, a beautiful lawn, or amazing trees set before an amazing mountain.
