The Trade Lyrics

Everything you've said and done
All goes back to where we first begun
And a promise that we made
I'll give you time to think about it
Do you believe their biggest lie?
The world don't care how you look or what you drive
Only sees the good inside
I need you to think about itFor all the stars I the sky that couldn't lead me to you
For all the time that passed keeping me waiting
The compromises I made when I had so much to lose
I couldn't trade it for you
I could see your fire was gone
You couldn't say what you loved for what you lost
Only point to the hole inside
Do it wrong and justify it
Tell me how the right words felt like sin
How all the wrong ones slipped right in
Couldn't stand your ground this time

Do it wrong and justify itFor all the stars I the sky that couldn't lead me to you
For all the time that passed keeping me waiting
The compromises I made when I had so much to prove
You said I want to trade it for youI was your biggest failure
You were my endless joke
You took the best part of me
Sold it to save your soul
For all the stars I the sky that couldn't lead me to you
For all the time that passed keeping me waiting
The compromises I made when I had so much to lose
I couldn't trade it for you
