Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye Lyrics

Kiss me each morning for a million years
Hold me each evening by your side
Tell me you love me for a million years
Then if it don't work out
Then If it don't work out
Then you can tell me goodbyeSweeten my coffee with a morning kiss
Soften my dreams with your sigh
Tell me you love me for a million years
Then if it don't work out
Then if it don't work out
Then you can tell me goodbye
If you must go I won't grieve
But just wait a lifetime
Before you leave, please
Then if you must go I won't tell you no
Just so we can say that we tried
Tell me you love me for a million just a million years
Then if it don't work out

Then if it don't work out
Then you can tell me goodbyeThen you can tell me goodbyeYou can tell me goodbyeGoodbye

Bettye Swann (born Betty Jean Champion, October 24, 1944, Shreveport, Louisiana) is an American soul music singer, best known for her 1967 hit song "Make Me Yours". She grew up in Arcadia, Louisiana, one of 14 children, and moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1963. Although some sources state that she was in a vocal group known as The Fawns who recorded for Money Records in 1964, she has refuted this, saying that she sang with a trio in Arcadia by that name.
