Thought You Said Lyrics

Baby, baby, baby
Take a good look at me
I been cryin' from the lies
That hurt so bad inside I can't even think
Ain't never had nothing to me
Bring me down to the core 'til I hid the paint
Here to show you a compromise of heart
Though I'm fallin' apart
'Til there no remains
What had me thinkin' your word was your bond?
Don't you know, didn't have to call it love?
If you knew it was a situation you wasn't ready for
I could see if your feelings have changed
But damn, you just slammed the door
Only the one that you said
You put down your whole life for
I can comprehend the deck of cards
That you dealt me

How can you turn on me?
How can you? How can you?
How can you purposely?
How can you? How can you?
Lesson learned, house can burn
We're close to heat
But your words don't mean nothin' to me
Thought you said, thought you said that you loved me
Thought you said, thought you said that you need me
Thought you said, thought you said you complete me
Thought you said you were never gonna let it go
Thought you said, thought you said when you tell me
Thought you said, thought you said when you tell me
Thought you said no one else could replace me
Thought you said that your never gonna let it go
The times that you weren't there
The times that you left me here
The times that I needed you
You know my love is true
My passion's inside for you
The night's that I cried for you
A man's has these feelings too
Same shit that y'all go through
I been here before
Sometimes the pain you ignore
Until it's right at your door
And you just can't take it no more
Why does love feel this way?
Why does it hurt so bad?
How can you turn on me?
How can you? How can you?
How can you purposely?
How can you? How can you?
Lesson learned, house can burn
We're close to heat
But your words don't mean nothin' to me
Thought you said, thought you said that you loved me
Thought you said, thought you said that you need me
Thought you said, thought you said you complete me
Thought you said you were never gonna let it go
Thought you said, thought you said when you tell me
Thought you said, thought you said when you tell me
Thought you said no one else could replace me
Thought you said that your never gonna let it go
The heartache and pain
Sometimes it goes to your brain
Sometimes it makes you insane
Sometimes our joy is our pain
'Cause it tears you apart
These affairs of the heart
I think I'm strong but I'm not
And when I look in your eyes
You know it kills me inside
But I can't wait for that day
That you come back to me, girl
After we both go away
It's just to see if it's real
It's no denying the fact
It's meant to be if you let it go
And then they come back
If this our last dance
We need to practice our steps
This situation I left behind
But your heart's what I kept
You said I did you wrong
You did me wrong, we was both at fault
And of course, you lost me
With your alibis and all of your talkin'
But most important, I just question myself
The rain, it's takin' over
I just can't believe
What happened then compared to now is dream
And I know now your future ain't me
I can't sleep, I can't breathe
I ain't eat in days
Stomach pains from arguin'
Didn't you cheat on me?
That's how the problems started
And as far as I'm concerned
We learned our lesson
Well, it's all in the healin'
And that process has got me stressin'
I'm so pressured
I'm so physically drained
I ain't thinking straight
I loved you more than my own self
Although I couldn't bare the pain of seein' my old self
Young, wild, uncontrolled self
Callous and cold, I love you, girl
I don't need no one else
Lesson learned, house can burn
We're close to heat
But your words don't mean nothin' to me
Thought you said, thought you said that you loved me
Thought you said, thought you said that you need me
Thought you said, thought you said you complete me
Thought you said you were never gonna let it go
When I look in your eyes
You know it kills me inside
Didn't you? Didn't you?
Lesson learned, house can burn
We're close to heat
But your words don't mean nothin' to me
These affairs of the heart
I think I'm strong but I'm not
Thought you said, thought you said that you love me
Thought you said, thought you said that you need me
Come back to me, girl
How can you? How can you?
Thought you said, thought you said you complete me
Thought you said you were never gonna let it go

("Diddy" is a name being used by two different artists - Richard Dearlove [UK] and Sean Combs [US].

Richard Dearlove is a London-based musical artist best know for his hit single "Give Me Love" (#23 in the UK Charts). He also constructed worldwide smash remixes of Blondie's Atomic (#19 UK, #1 US Billboard), Heart of Glass (#15 UK) and Union City Blue. He has worked with a long list of artists such as Robert Palmer, Marianne Faithful, Dolly Parton, Alan Thompson, Steve Thomas, Wayne G, Republica, The Sugababes, Tall Paul, Andy Allder, The Tyrell Corporation, Rachel Auburn, Aetherius, MC Kinky, Blu Peter, Nusta and Donna Summer.

Dearlove is a popular DJ at a popular gay club called Megawoof! in London, and runs the record labels "Resident Records" and "Megawoof Records" along with DJ Daz Saund. He is currently working with UK rapper Rob FT as well as the San Francisco Opera.

Sean John Combs is an American musical artist best known for his top 40 rap songs and collaborations. He is also known for his penchant for changing his name quite often. Previously, he's been known as "Puff Daddy", "P. Diddy", "Sean John", "Puff", and "Puffy".

Combs runs the record label Bad Boy Records, the clothing lines Sean John and Sean by Sean Combs, a movie production company, and two restaurants. He has taken the roles of recording executive, producer of reality TV, writer, arranger, clothing designer, and actor.

In August 2005, Sean Combs adopted the stage name "Diddy". Dearlove had used the stage name "Diddy" commercially since 1993. In 2006, after attempting to resolve the name conflict with Combs' management, Dearlove successfully filed suit against Combs. The terms of the amicable settlement ordered Combs to pay Dearlove "significant damages" and barred him from releasing music under the name "Diddy" in the UK.
