While the Candle Still Burns Lyrics

I can hear your car
As you're driving in circles
Reluctant to park
Until you're ready and stable
YeahSo walk with me into the fire
Come on, follow me close behindSo we'll go where they won't know
Our secrets and sorrows
We should leave while we can
And be gone by tomorrow
Can't you see how the second hand turns?
We should go while the candle still burnsYou hesitate to start
You just stand there with your hands bare
And wonder who you areAnd you take to much to heart
So you build another thrill
Until this one falls apartSo we'll go where they won't know
Our secrets and sorrows
We should leave while we can
And be gone by tomorrow

Can't you see how the second hand turns?
We should go while the candle still burnsHave you ever let another put out your flame?
And have you ever said "I'm a fool to stay in the same place"?So we'll go where they won't know
Our secrets and sorrows
We should leave while we can
And be gone by tomorrow
Can't you see how the second hand turns? And we'll go where they won't know
Our secrets and sorrows
We should leave while we can
And be gone by tomorrow
Can't you see how the second hand turns?
We should go while the candle still burnsSaid, we should go while the candle still burns

Thriving Ivory derives its creative energy from great rock predecessors such as Queen, Guns’n’Roses, U2 and Elton John. At the same time, they maintain a modern rock edge lending them accessibility to fans of acts like Coldplay, Gavin DeGraw and Maroon 5. Pianist and songwriter Scott Jason is the founding member and co-producer of Thriving Ivory. He met Clayton Stroope -the band’s charismatic lead singer- while the two were students at U.C. Santa Barbara.
