You Turn Me On Lyrics

I saw you staring, pretended not to care
You left your hirsute presence hanging in the air
I didn't want to fall in love
But now I think you've changed my mindYeah, there was someone, but that was years ago
She was positively charming but I had to let her go
She needed to be adored and I didn't feel inclinedThere's no way, since then that
I've ever wanted anyone to stay again
Oh, but you just really turn me onAnd I can't take my eyes off you tonight
If you asked me to make love to you, I might
Because nobody's ever made me feel like this beforeIt's disconcerting, becoming quite surreal
There is no point in asking because I don't know how I feel
But I'm sure that this is something too good to ignoreThere's no way, since then that
I've ever wanted anyone to stay again
But now suddenly those thoughts have goneThere's no way, since then that
I've ever wanted anyone to stay again
Oh, but you just really turn me onThere's no way, since then that
I've ever wanted anyone to stay again
But now suddenly those thoughts have gone

Cinerama from Leeds, UK started life as a duo in 1997, The Wedding Present's David Gedge and his girlfriend Sally Murrell, together with a shifting line-up of collaborators. 1998's Va Va Voom "turbo-driven melodies and bittersweet vignettes taking in everything from John Barry to the Zombies" (The Times) featured The Church's Marty Willson-Piper and Emma Pollock from The Delgados. Then later in 1998, Gedge rescued the rhythm section of the disbanded Goya Dress ([Terry de Castro and Simon Pearson) and combined them with Wedding Present guitarist Simon Cleave.
