American Fighter Lyrics

Confused and I am dazed
I stay betrayed
Looking for a place to go
We stand up in line looking in eyeThey call me an American fighter
But thats not my name
I stand as a ruthless tiger
But its not in my natureStop this now
Im not having fun anymore
Stop this crowd
Theyre shooting me down to groundTired and I am clayed
I yell your name
Working for a place to sleep
Running to a safeguard in the treesThey call me an American fighter
But thats not my name
I stand as a ruthless tiger
But its not in my natureStop this now
Im not having fun anymore
Stop this crowd

Theyre shooting me down to ground
We play those games of hide and seek now
Just to stay safe and tied
God help me
Cope with anestheticAmerican FighterI know the moon is shinning
I know the sun is high
I know that god is watching
To me keep well and aliveThey call me an American fighter
But thats not my name
I stand as a ruthless tiger
But its not in my natureStop this now
Im not having fun anymore
Stop this crowd
Theyre shooting me down to ground
We play those games of hide and seek now
Just to stay safe and tied
God help me
Cope with anestheticAmerican Fighter

Singer/songwriter Michael Rider hailing as a “wonder boy from Richmond” releases the companion piece to early 2014’s “Hidden Treasure”. A less exuberant, introspective, un-mastered “Lost Language” is what Rider comes to deliver as the new title. The twenty-year-old songwriter travels back to his roots of home recordings to illustrate the old b-sides left unreleased from his debut album, 2011’s “Lighthouse”. The results are what listeners would call close to Kate Bush or Tori Amos: confessional, raw, and genuine.
