Dancer Road Lyrics

What can you say when the love goes away
The good feeling just walked out the door
The dance with you seemed like the easiest thing in the world
But it's over and not like beforeWe had a good thing going
Now it's just good and gone
We lived on a street they call Dancer Road
It's that Dancer Road feeling I need so againDancer Road feeling, please lead me home again
Come and take this long lost son
Where the wind is warm and the days light up and flow along
I'm packed and ready, just tell me when
Just tell me when, just tell me when
(Repeat again after a break)Dancer Road feeling such a good time feeling
It's the best thing I've ever known
I need love inside me for a girl that's here by me
I don't want to sit and cry alone

Head East was a hard rock quintet originally from south central Illinois, then Champaign, Illinois, USA. They released their first album, Flat as a Pancake, in 1974 on their own record label (Pyramid Records) selling all 5,000 records and 500 eight-tracks produced. A&M was impressed enough to sign the band and re-release the album in 1975 which went gold by 1978. Flat as a Pancake would remain their most popular album spawning two charting singles, the well-known anthem "Never Been Any Reason" and "Love Me tonight", both written by guitarist Mike Somerville.
