Jefftown Creek Lyrics

I remember the first time
Yeah, down in Jefftown creek
You and me and a bottle of wine
And the night just felt so sweetCame up Sunday morning, the first day of the week
And I found that I had changed down in Jefftown creekI know that I'm not the same anymore
Well, can't you see its true
Find all the answers and pass them along
Hope that it's me and youWhen I found all the answers, the words I could not speak
But I knew that I had changed down in Jefftown creekWhen I found all the answers, the words I could not speak
But I knew that I had changed down in Jefftown creekI remember the first time
Yeah, down in Jefftown creek
You, and me and a bottle of wine
And your night just felt so sweetCome up Sunday morning, the first day of the week
And I found that I had changed down in Jefftown creekCome up Sunday morning, the first day of the week
And I found that I had changed down in Jefftown creek
Down in Jefftown creek, down in Jefftown creek, Jefftown creek

Head East was a hard rock quintet originally from south central Illinois, then Champaign, Illinois, USA. They released their first album, Flat as a Pancake, in 1974 on their own record label (Pyramid Records) selling all 5,000 records and 500 eight-tracks produced. A&M was impressed enough to sign the band and re-release the album in 1975 which went gold by 1978. Flat as a Pancake would remain their most popular album spawning two charting singles, the well-known anthem "Never Been Any Reason" and "Love Me tonight", both written by guitarist Mike Somerville.
