Gettin' Lucky Lyrics

Gettin' lucky is the name of the game
What you call it, it all means the same
Put on your good looks and your dancing shoes
Go downtown and try to shake those bluesBut you know, another night
Another number, gettin' luckyTryin' the hot spots with the bright funky lights
Look for the love and stay out of the fights
Talk to the people but you know that it's true
Even if they like you, the joke's on you'Cause you know, another night
Another number, gettin' luckyLivin' in a dreamy world that's full of tinsel and glitter
When the morning comes, why are you always so bitter
You know what you're gonna find and you know I'm right
You'll come home with a number from another nightLivin' in a dreamy world, full of tinsel and glitter
When the morning comes, why are you always so bitter
You know what you're gonna find and you know I'm right
You'll come home with a number from another nightGivin' it up, would be the easy way out
Only thing you'll do is sit and pout
You've got to fight it, hold your head up high
Even if it never works, you know you tryBut you know, another night

Another number, gettin' luckyBut you know, another night
Another number, gettin' lucky
Gettin' lucky yeahWhat's your number?
I don't know
Are you a winner?
Oh Lord, I'm a winner
I keep on tryin', tryin', tryin', yeah ohh
I got to get that numberOoh gettin' lucky yeah
I just need some
Ooh, gettin' lucky
Ooh, gettin' lucky
Ooh, gettin' luckyThat's the name of the game
Ooh, gettin' lucky
I keep playin' now, yeahOoh, gettin' lucky
Ooh, gettin' lucky
Ooh, gettin' lucky

Head East was a hard rock quintet originally from south central Illinois, then Champaign, Illinois, USA. They released their first album, Flat as a Pancake, in 1974 on their own record label (Pyramid Records) selling all 5,000 records and 500 eight-tracks produced. A&M was impressed enough to sign the band and re-release the album in 1975 which went gold by 1978. Flat as a Pancake would remain their most popular album spawning two charting singles, the well-known anthem "Never Been Any Reason" and "Love Me tonight", both written by guitarist Mike Somerville.
