Don't Let Me Sleep In the Morning Lyrics

Depend on what she brings you, she's keepin' you alive
You know the price you're payin' or you wouldn't waste your time
The need you have is growin' while the feelin' makes you sing
A woman's gone and left me and she's taken everythingThere's a way in which she loves you and no one takes her place
She takes away your sorrow with a warm and easy taste
She leaves you feelin' satisfied that someone really cares
Now she's gone and I wish that she was never really thereDon't let me sleep in the morning and break up the day
Don't let me tell you a story and hear what you say
Don't try to tell me you're sorry and get in the way
Don't let me sleep in the morning and break up the dayThere's a lady in the corner who sees the show for free
Tonight I'll try to show her just how much she means to me
She'll leave before it's over and I won't even see
But tomorrow night she'll come back and see what's left of me
See what's let of me, see what's left of me, see what's left of meRepeat chorus twiceWhaaooh
Don't let me sleep in the morning and break up the day

Head East was a hard rock quintet originally from south central Illinois, then Champaign, Illinois, USA. They released their first album, Flat as a Pancake, in 1974 on their own record label (Pyramid Records) selling all 5,000 records and 500 eight-tracks produced. A&M was impressed enough to sign the band and re-release the album in 1975 which went gold by 1978. Flat as a Pancake would remain their most popular album spawning two charting singles, the well-known anthem "Never Been Any Reason" and "Love Me tonight", both written by guitarist Mike Somerville.
