Light in Your Eyes Lyrics

I can't remember the last time that we kissed goodbye
All of our 'I love you's' were just not enough to surviveSomething your eyes never told me
But it's only now too plain to see
Brilliant disguise when you hold me
And I'm freeI've been thinking and here's what I've come to conclude
Sometimes the distance is more than two people can useBut how could I have known, girl
It was time and not space you would need
Darling, tonight, I could hold you and you would know
But would you believeThere's a light in your eyes, I used to see
There's a place in your heart where I used to be
Was I wrong to assume that you were waiting for me
There's a light in your eyes, did you leave that light burning for meCards and phone calls and photograph pictures of you
The constant reminder of all the things you get used toIs there a chance in Hell or Heaven
That there's still something here to build on
Or do you just pick up the pieces after they fall
But after allThere's a light in your eyes, I used to see
And a song in the words that you spoke to me
Was I wrong to believe in your melody

There's a light in your eyes, did you leave that light burning for meShould I keep on waiting or does love keep on fading away
Fading awayIt's been a while since I've seen you, so how have you been
Did you get my letter I wrote you that I did not sendI tried to call your old number
But the voice that I heard on the phone
I recognized but she told me the number was wrongThere's a light in my eyes, it's too bright to see
And a pain in my heart where you used to be
Guess, I was wrong to assume that you were waiting here for me
There's a light in your eyes, did you leave that light burning for me

Blessid Union of Souls is an American rock band from Cincinnati that was formed in 1990 by Jeff Pence and Eliot Sloan. The current touring band members are singer Eliot Sloan (original member), bassist Tony Clark (original member), drummer Shaun Schaefer (Vinyltones), and guitarist Bryan Billhimer (Vinyltones). Two former touring members, keyboard and bassist C.P. Roth and drummer Eddie Hedges, left the band in 2002.

Some of the band's biggest hits include "I Believe," "Hey, Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me)," "I Wanna Be There," and "Brother My Brother" which was used in the US release of the first Pokemon movie. Their debut album, "Home," was certified gold by the RIAA in 1995.

In 2000, several of the band's songs were scheduled for use during the production of a film entitled "Standing at the Edge of the Earth" by Fizzle Freak Productions. The film would have co-starred the band's bassist Tony Clark, as well as the rest of the band featured in prominent roles. The film's production was canceled in late 2000 early 2001 due to legal and financial issues.

In 2006, Jeff Pence headed a project in which the band contributed two tracks for "Clutch Hits," a CD that featured a variety of artists singing about the Cincinnati Reds. The songs were entitled "Play Ball" and "Me, Marty, Joe, Ted & Louise." The project was a fund raiser for the Reds Community Fund.
