My Friend Lyrics

Put your head on my shoulder
No need to worry ?bout a thing
I'll be the cure for your loneliness
I'll make you feel like you're whole againAnd you can always count on me wherever I may go
When this world's got you feelin' blue
Call my name and I'll run to you
My friendOn my wings we both can fly
Cause there's no burden big enough
And when you're hurtin' baby so am I
And we'll both cry
There's nothing stronger than our love
And you can always count on me
wherever I may be
Oh I'm gonna find the way
To a better day
My friendSo let me be the one to save ya
Cause it's the least that I can do
And you don't have to return the favor

Cause I promise you
Oh we're gonna make it through
My friend
Oh we're gonna make it through
My friend

Blessid Union of Souls is an American rock band from Cincinnati that was formed in 1990 by Jeff Pence and Eliot Sloan. The current touring band members are singer Eliot Sloan (original member), bassist Tony Clark (original member), drummer Shaun Schaefer (Vinyltones), and guitarist Bryan Billhimer (Vinyltones). Two former touring members, keyboard and bassist C.P. Roth and drummer Eddie Hedges, left the band in 2002.

Some of the band's biggest hits include "I Believe," "Hey, Leonardo (She Likes Me for Me)," "I Wanna Be There," and "Brother My Brother" which was used in the US release of the first Pokemon movie. Their debut album, "Home," was certified gold by the RIAA in 1995.

In 2000, several of the band's songs were scheduled for use during the production of a film entitled "Standing at the Edge of the Earth" by Fizzle Freak Productions. The film would have co-starred the band's bassist Tony Clark, as well as the rest of the band featured in prominent roles. The film's production was canceled in late 2000 early 2001 due to legal and financial issues.

In 2006, Jeff Pence headed a project in which the band contributed two tracks for "Clutch Hits," a CD that featured a variety of artists singing about the Cincinnati Reds. The songs were entitled "Play Ball" and "Me, Marty, Joe, Ted & Louise." The project was a fund raiser for the Reds Community Fund.
